It feels like respectful discourse has kind of disappeared in today’s world. What would happen if we could bring it back?
We decided to explore the idea of SHOWING respect, and that when we BEHAVE with respect, it often elicits a better response!
In this episode, we discuss 10 ways our parents taught us to show respect to others and to ourselves and the surprising benefits of living respectfully.
Enjoy sage advice like "keep your fingers out of the pickle jar," and "Yabbit? What's a yabbit?" or one of our mom's favorites: "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."
10 Ways to Show Respect:
Nobody is perfect.
Never hit anyone. But if they hit you first, hit 'em back harder.
Use Mary Ann rules (anything worth doing is worth doing right).
Be rich in love.
If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
Keep your fingers out of the pickle jar.
When God closes a door, he opens a window.
Yabbit? What's a Yabbit?
Make him come to the door.
